Department of Business Economics at University of Gdansk creates a team of twelve research and teaching staff together with a person employed as a specialist in administration.
The head of the Department is Assoc. Professor Pawel Antonowicz.
The Department consists of two units:
1. Division of Enterprise Development and Restructuring, headed by Ph.D. Marzenna Czerwinska;
2. Division of Quality and Environmental Management, headed by Professor Malgorzata Wisniewska.
Our trademark is the speciality of Enterprise Development Management, which is included in the didactic offer in the field of Management.
Enterprise Development Management is one of the most important research trends that are undertaken in both research and didactic work by the employees of Department of Business Economics.
Enterprise Development Management issues are multidimensional. We provide teaching process through case studies by implementing research projects together with consulting and advisory experience in business practice.
We hope that this is the right way to build knowledge and inspire students to learn. By choosing the speciality of Enterprise Development Management you will have the opportunity to deepen knowledge in the following areas:
- functioning of SME sector, activity of family enterprises, establishing own business, creation of entrepreneurial attitudes;
- business cooperation (including franchises);
- enterprise value management, project management;
- strategic management and performing strategic analyses, operationalization of strategies (also in corporate terms), process measurement in structurally complex organization (KPIs);
- business excellence models and concepts, quality and environmental management, corporate social responsibility;
- economic and legal conditions of restructuring and bankruptcy of enterprises, early warning systems against the insolvency of business partners;
- ethical aspects of business activity.
