Rules for the study program
Rules for the implementation of the study program during Erasmus + exchange:
- A student participating in the exchange is obliged to earn at least 30 ECTS credits in each semester of stay at the partner university (the number of credits may be reduced by the number of credits for the seminar and mandatory professional practice, provided that they take place in the exchange semester).
- The sum of ECTS credits earned for participation in foreign language classes at the partner university cannot exceed 6 ECTS credits.
- The student is obliged to get acquainted with the offer of lectures at partner universities and choose those universities that offer subjects converging with the studied major.
- When choosing a university, special attention should be paid to the language requirements and the university's offer of the availability of the appropriate level of study (bachelor's, master's).
- An obligatory subject "to be credited upon return" can be credited by the Dean on the basis of completion of an adequate subject abroad. The list of subjects to be credited upon return is provided below:
Compulsory courses to be completed upon returning from an Erasmus exchange
- Subjects to be passed "upon return" as well as the seminar and compulsory professional practice are placed in a special document called Internal Addendum.
- Students are required to pass all classes included in the subject to be passed "after return", i.e. lecture, exercises, laboratory.
- Students who have a seminar in their program of study agree before departure with their supervisor to take classes by e-mail while abroad (the seminar is placed in the Internal Addendum) and are required to attend meetings with the supervisor (online).
- If credit for internships is mandatory in the semester of departure, the student should complete them before departure or immediately after return, and the internship is placed in the Internal Addendum document.
- When recognizing courses for credit abroad, the Dean is guided by the convergence of learning outcomes, including in particular: the number of ECTS, the program content, the form and dimension of the course, the way in which it was passed and the result obtained.
- If the subject completed abroad is identical or convergent with the subject to be completed at the University of Gdansk "upon return", the Transcript of Records with the grades obtained abroad should be accompanied by the syllabus/subject sheet of that subject from the partner university.
- In the case of achieving from the subjects completed abroad and from the subjects that the student compulsorily completes upon return a sum of ECTS credits greater than 30 per semester, the excess credits may be deducted from the optional classes of the higher semester (i.e. elective courses) at the student's request.
- During mobility: in case of failing a course at a foreign university, the student is first obliged to ask the lecturer to set a correction date at the host university. If it is not possible to take the correction abroad, the student should immediately inform the Erasmus program coordinator in order to determine the further course of action.
- After the end of mobility and return to the home university: if the student does not obtain at least 30 ECTS credits from the subjects taken abroad (e.g., as a result of failing an exam), the student is obliged to immediately inform the Erasmus program coordinator and the Dean of Student Affairs and Education. On this basis, a date will be set for a make-up exam at the home university.
In the case of having insufficient funds under the KA131 financial agreement to finance all the mobility approved in the protocols in the full planned time, UG adopts the principle of shortening the funding time. This means that if the budget for student mobility is too low in the first stage, funding for planned full-year trips is reduced - only the semester of mobility is funded. In this way, candidates from the bottom of the main lists are not deleted, and the university retains the full number of mobilities resulting from all protocols. On the other hand, the semester mobility funding is reduced (e.g. from a maximum of 5 months to 4 months).
