Rules for the study program

Rules for the implementation of the study program during Erasmus + exchange:

• A student participating in the mobility exchange is required to obtain 30 ECTS credits in each semester of stay at the partner university. (the number of credits may be reduced by the number of credits for the seminar, provided that it takes place in the exchange semester)

• The sum of the ECTS points obtained for the participation in foreign language classes at the partner university cannot exceed 6 ECTS points.

• The student is obliged to recognize the offer of courses at the partner universities and select those universities that offer courses consistent with the field of study he/she is studying.

- When choosing a university, pay particular attention to the language requirements and what the university offers in terms of availability of the appropriate level of study (bachelor's, master's).

• The Dean determines the rules and dates for passing exams of the obligatory subjects in the study program at the University of Gdańsk, which are planned for the semester (year) when the student was abroad.

• The obligatory subject in the UG study program may be credited by the Dean on the basis of having completed an adequate subject abroad.

• The student is obliged to complete the obligatory courses after returning to Poland, if the partner university does not offer identical or similar courses till the end of study cycle.

• The obligatory courses that student has to pass should be put in special document called Internal Addendum

List of the obligatory courses

• Students who have a bachelor or master seminar in their program of study agree with their supervisor to take classes online (via teams, emails) during their stay abroad. The seminar should be put in Internal Addendum

• If internship is compulsory in the semester of Erasmus exchange, the student should complete it before the exchange or immediately upon return and the internship should be included in Internal Addendum.

• When recognizing the classes as completed abroad, the Dean is guided by the convergence of the learning outcomes, in particular: the number of ECTS, curriculum content, form and size of classes, the method of passing them and the obtained result.

• If the subject carried out abroad is identical or coinciding with the subject to be completed at the University of Gdańsk, the Transcript of Records with the grades obtained abroad should be accompanied by the syllabus from this subject from the partner university.

• In the case of achievement the sum of ECTS points greater than 30 per semester, the surplus of points may be deducted from the optional classes of the higher semester at the student's request.

If there are not enough funds under the KA131 financing agreement to finance all the mobilities approved in the protocols within the full planned time, UG adopts the principle of shortening the financing period. It means that if the budget for student mobility in the first stage is too low, funding for planned year-long mobility is reduced - only one semester of mobility is financed. This way the candidates at the bottom of the main lists are not crossed out and the university retains the full number of mobilities resulting from all the protocols. Secondly, the time of semester mobility financing is reduced (e.g. from maximum 5 to 4 months).
