About the Department
The Department of Banking and Finance was established on March 1, 2018 as a result of the merger of the Department of Finance and Financial Risk and the Department of Banking.
The head of the Department is Assoc. Professor Angelika Kędzierska-Szczepaniak.
There are 20 research and teaching staff and one person on the specialist in administration position employed in the Department of Banking and Finance .
Department of Banking and Finance of the University of Gdansk is a renowned academic and research unit, employing highly qualified staff members. They combine academic work with economic practice, participating in numerous research teams, scientific conferences, participate in the implementation of research grants financed from the resources of the National Science Center. They are also authors of valuable scientific papers published nationally and abroad.
Department of Banking and Finance co-organises the course „Taxes and Tax Advisory”, which as a Masters degree has been awarded certificate of “Leader of Teaching Quality”.
University of Gdansk and the State Examination Commission for Tax Advisors of the Ministry of Finance signed an agreement under which graduates of the interdepartmental programme of Taxes and Tax Advisory Masters degree, will be exempted from the written part of the state examination of tax advisors.
