April 2 – World Autism Awareness Day

At the Faculty of Management of the University of Gdańsk, we want to talk about neurodiversity in a responsible way – based on knowledge, experience, and real actions.

On the one hand, research shows that neurodivergent individuals in the academic environment often face invisible difficulties: sensory overload, a sense of isolation, or communication barriers.

On the other hand, we increasingly see that social awareness is growing, and with it the need to create concrete solutions.

An example of such an initiative is the Neuromapa project, developed at the University of Gdańsk by a research-and-practice team associated with the Institute of Psychology UG and the Academic Psychological Support Centre.

It is an initiative that combines research, psychological support, and technological solutions, helping neurodivergent individuals find sensory-friendly spaces and function in them with a greater sense of safety.

However, Neuromapa is more than just a tool.

It is a way of thinking about the university as a place:
– that offers choice and flexibility,
– that understands that needs are diverse and equally important,
– that builds a sense of belonging instead of exclusion.

Because neurodiversity is not a “trend”.

It is a reality that requires attentiveness, knowledge, and cooperation.

💙 As a gesture of solidarity with people on the autism spectrum, we encourage you today (02.04.2026) to wear blue – as a symbol of support, understanding, and openness.

Today and every day, let us build a university where everyone can function on their own terms.

We invite You to find more information.
